Days 24 and 25…what day is it again?

Days 24 and 25 of 40 days of yoga.

Luckily I am keeping track of the 40 days of yoga through this blog, or I wouldn’t know what the hell day it was ;).

The end of the year is looming, my days are getting crammed full of things to do and functions to attend, all of which seem to be edging my time with you out – temporarily of course!

Today I had a job interview in a town one hours drive from here at 9:30 this morning, after which I turned around and drove right back to get to my son’s presentation day, followed by a 2 hour spontaneous community swim at the local swimming hole. All of these activities are and were very enjoyable of course – although potentially exhausting  followed up by an all day end of year party at a local water fun park tomorrow, and then a 2 night visit from one of the Soccer Star’s friends as his mother finishes off her year’s work at the school.

Phew!

So, thank goodness for 40 days of yoga – because every day, no matter how hectic, I know that I will have a chunk of time dedicated to only me. And even though it can seem like just another thing to squeeze in, in practice, it’s not. It’s like every day, I give a gift to myself – a gift of time, that most precious commodity at this time of year.

Today I got up early (5:30) and did yoga for an hour, so that I could be in the right head space for my job interview (I’ll know by Thursday, and I’ll tell you more then), as well as not having to try and squeeze it in at the end of the day. Very good idea as it turned out, as I was calm all day and had plenty of energy to see me through.

A couple of little presents for you, that made me smile today:

I hope your silly season is coming along just the way you like it :).

  1. What day is it indeed? Thank YOU for keeping track. I think you are doing great!!! Find your yoga in all that you do, and the carving out of special time just for yourself is an extra plus!!. Well deserved in your hectic schedule, that’s for sure. 🙂

  2. Love your quotes Sara – especially the Gandhi one – very apt for me right now! I can totally relate to the feeling of finding refuge in yoga.I haven’t been doing it every day, but I have been doing Yoga between 3-4 times a week which is a world record for me. It’s reached a point where I am craving it, looking forward to it. And that’s a good place to be! Good luck with your job interview.
